Do you need EMDR consultation for Certification?

Did you know EMDRIA Certification standards are supposed to change in 2027?!

Did you know EMDRIA certification standards are expected to change in 2027?

If becoming EMDR Certified is one of your goals, 2026 may be an ideal time to complete your consultation hours and submit your application before the updated requirements take effect.

As a reminder, EMDR therapists can complete up to 15 of their 20 consultation hours with a Consultant-in-Training (CIT).

Below you'll find several talented EMDR Consultants-in-Training who currently have consultation opportunities available. Some are offering groups, some individual consultation, and many have openings this summer.

Not sure if you're ready for consultation?

Consultation isn't about being perfect. It's a place to ask questions, troubleshoot cases, build confidence, and strengthen your EMDR skills with support.

Beyond Calm Space: Creative Resourcing for Complex & Overwhelmed Clients with CIT Kristin Cogan

A consultation workshop perfect for EMDR therapists who feel stuck when Calm Place and Container aren't enough.

Do you have clients who say, "I can't find a calm place," "The container doesn't work for me," or "I don't feel anything"?

While Calm Place and Container are foundational Phase 2 interventions, many clients with complex trauma, perfectionism, chronic overwhelm, dissociation, or highly intellectual coping styles struggle to connect with these traditional resources.

Join me for a 2-hour consultation workshop designed to expand your Phase 2 toolkit with creative, nervous-system-informed resourcing strategies for clients who need something different.

Together, we'll explore why traditional resourcing sometimes falls flat and what to do instead. You'll learn practical, experiential interventions that help clients access regulation, safety, and connection without relying solely on visualization.

In this workshop, you'll learn:
β€’ Why traditional Calm Space and Container may fail with some clients
β€’ How to identify when a client needs alternative resourcing approaches
β€’ At least 4 creative resourcing interventions you can use immediately
β€’ Ways to increase embodiment and nervous system regulation in perfectionistic, overwhelmed, highly activated, and dissociative clients

You'll leave with practical scripts, experiential practice, and 3–4 new resources you can begin using in session the very next day.

Date: July 16, 2026
Time: 2:00-4:00 PM CT
Cost: $44
Spots Available: 8 clinicians

This small-group consultation format allows plenty of time for discussion, questions, case examples, and clinical application.

If you've ever found yourself wondering, "Now what?" after a client tells you Calm Place isn't working, this workshop is for you.

Stuck on a Case? Wondering if You're Doing This Right? Individual Consultation with Kristin Cogan, EMDRIA CIT

Let's be honest. Most EMDR therapists have had a moment where they're sitting in session thinking, "What am I missing?" or even "WTF am I doing?"

Whether you're pursuing certification, working with a complex client, struggling to move a case forward, or simply wanting more confidence in your EMDR skills, individual consultation can help.

My consultation style is warm, collaborative, and judgment-free. Together, we'll think through your cases, strengthen your case conceptualization, troubleshoot processing blocks, expand your resourcing toolbox, and help you feel more confident in the therapy room.

You don't have to figure it all out on your own.

EMDR and Birth Trauma Live Workshop

Hi Reader, As Birth Trauma Awareness Week comes to a close, I keep thinking about the clients whose birth experiences continue to impact them long after the baby is born. Many of us weren't taught how to recognize birth trauma or how to confidently use EMDR when it shows up in the therapy room. Maybe you've had a client mention an emergency C-section, a frightening delivery, a NICU stay, or feeling dismissed during labor, and you've wondered, Am I equipped to help with this? That's exactly...

virtual emdr tool

Hi Reader, If you provide EMDR virtually, I wanted to share a tool upgrade that I've genuinely found helpful. I've used BilateralStimulation.io for a while, and honestly, I assumed the Professional Plan wasn't for me. I'm usually the person who sticks with the free version of software because I don't need a lot of extra bells and whistles. But after trying it, I realized the Professional Plan doesn't make things more complicated, it actually makes my sessions smoother and helps clients really...
